Fans have been waiting for the release of "The Winds of Winter" from author George R.R. Martin. Others think that it will be out soon, but some believe that it will be further delayed because of the final season of "Game of Thrones."

The book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" already had five books released. The last one is titled "A Dance with Dragons," which came out back in 2011. But until now, its sixth book is not yet out, and fans are getting impatient.

Reports indicate that the book will not be out until the "Game of Thrones" final season ends. This way, everyone will not get an idea of how the series will end. Also, the release of "The Winds of Winter" might divert the attention of "Game of Thrones" fans.

A Reddit user said that it is possible that Martin already finished the sixth book and even the seventh book titled "A Dream of Spring." The user adds that these books will not be released yet since Martin has an obligation and formal contract with HBO. It is speculated that the author is not allowed to release them until HBO airs the storylines that may include the contents of the book.

The user also said that the amount of interest of the show will remain high if the entire audience is clueless about what will happen next. Express UK quotes another user who said that HBO does not want people to know how "Game of Thrones" will end even if they only followed a skeleton of the major plots. But once the books are out, it could still ruin the surprise that HBO wants for the finale.

This is understandable since "The Winds of Winter" is parallel to the "Game of Thrones." There could be plot stories that HBO will use for the series, and it is possible that they do not want to spoil the show's ending.

However, The Sun points out that Martin hinted that there will be one or two book releases from him this year. He also revealed on his blog that he is months away in finishing them since he dedicated 2017 in writing. Will Martin release the most-awaited titles this year?
