The first set of photographs for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" season 7 had already been released, but fans of "A Song of Ice and Fire" where the TV series was based on are still waiting for the news about the book saga's sixth installment, "The Winds of Winter."

Author George R.R. Martin remains mum about the progress of the highly-anticipated installment of his best-selling saga. However, it seems like it may still take a while before "The Winds of Winter" finally comes out on the book shelves.

Martin touched the status of the book in one of the previous entries on his official blog site back in March, hinting that he is currently busy with a lot of engagements aside from writing the pages of "The Winds of Winter."

According to the author, he had to attend several commitments for the Santa Fe film community during that time. "Besides all that, there's been the huge new Wild Cards deal, the Wild Cards reread, lots of stuff with HBO that I cannot talk about yet, and of course -- always, always -- WINDS OF WINTER," the 68-year-old best-selling author stated. "So much to do. And the days go by so quickly. I love my work, all my work, all my projects, all my children, but sometimes it seems as if the harder I work, the further behind I get."

While Martin did not mention the projects that he got himself involve with on HBO, reports claimed that he might be working with the producers of "Game of Thrones" for the show's upcoming season.

However, readers and "Game of Throne" fans are still hoping to see the sixth book from "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga to be released before the airing of "Game of Thrones" season 7 on Sunday, July 16, at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO.
