The upcoming launch of the new role-playing action game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is still in May, but the developers are now looking to expand the game with two new DLC expansions.

According to the game's developer CD Projekt Red, the expansions are slated to come late this year and early next year, as part of the company's drive to make the game much more enjoyable to hardcore players.

As what Marcin Iwinski, CD Projekt Red's co-founder, said to Attack of the Fanboy: "We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we'd like to bring that back."

As to why the expansion will be paid through season passes, as opposed to what they have announced before that the game will have free content, Iwinski added, "We've said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for the money. Both our expansions offer more hours of gameplay than quite a few standalone games out there."

The first expansion is to be released on October this year, and will be titled the "Hearts of Stone" pack. In this expansion, the main protagonist will have an all-new adventure into No Man's Land and the areas on Oxenfurt, and the main plot will be the completion of a quest from the mysterious Man of Glass. It is guaranteed to bring at least 10+ hours of additional gameplay and content for "Witcher" fans.

The second DLC will come in the first quarter of next year. In "Blood and Wine", main character Geralt will have to explore the all-new region of Toussaint in a gameplay that will add another 20+ hours of combat and new items.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will be released on May 19 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
