"Thor: Ragnarok" introduced a plethora of new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Karl Urban's Skurge. Skurge, also known as the Executioner, became one of the stand-out characters in the film, having been a last-minute hero to give his fellow Asgardians a chance to make it to safety. He presumably died in the film but with no body, some are questioning the possibility of his return in a potential "Thor 4."

When asked about this, Urban told Comic Book he had a "fantastic time" working on the movie and would be more than happy to come back. As he explained, "If the opportunity presented itself, I absolutely would love to come back and play Skurge again. He's such a fun character, and if not, then I'm very good with where it ended because it was a great little arc."

He also teased a way Skurge could return after his death, recalling Marvel "actually explored in the comics the afterlife and brought a couple of those characters back, including him."

Indeed, the Executioner was able to continue his exploits in the comic book universe even without being resurrected through the afterlife realms of Hela and Valhalla. Per the publication, Skurge was recruited in Grandmaster's Legion of the Unliving and joined the Asgardians and the New Mutants in a fight against Hela's forces. He helped defend the Hel as well when Thor's sister, Angela, tried to take the throne.

It would be interesting to see MCU's Skurge in such arcs. Unfortunately, neither Urban's return nor "Thor 4" itself has not been confirmed yet. Director Taika Waititi did express his interest in working for a potential sequel, though.

As he said previously, the third installment was one of the most enjoyable partnerships he had. They have already been throwing ideas for a fourth one, but he noted extending the franchise still depends on how "Avengers 4" wraps up.

In the meantime, fans can catch Skurge's fellow Asgardians, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston), back on the big screen with "Avengers: Infinity War." Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is set to open in cinemas on April 27.
