The first trailer of "Thor: Ragnarok" was chock-full of teasers of what is in store for the Thunder God (Chris Hemsworth). The biggest surprise that was revealed in the two-minute trailer was the seeming destruction of Mjolnir, and even Asgard, by Hela (Cate Blanchett), the villain in the movie. However, what excited fans more was the battle between Thor and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

The battle has received a lot of buzzes, not just because fans want to see who will emerge as the victor in the match-up, but also because the two "Avengers" heroes were conspicuously absent in "Captain America: Civil War." This has led to speculations that this film is set in the same timeline as the other movie, which saw the Avengers splitting up into two factions, with both recruiting other heroes as well.

Hulk's presence, in particular, is causing a lot of buzzes, because it is unclear why he somehow became trapped in the gladiator pit in another planet. He was last seen in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," where he seemingly left the superhero squad at the end of the movie. Nonetheless, his appearance as a gladiator recalls the "Planet Hulk" comic series, which fans were quick to point out. Film director Taika Waititi said that Hulk will be a scene-stealer in the film, although it is still unclear if he will help battle Hela or if his scenes will be limited to the ones in the gladiatorial pit.

Prior to the release of the trailer, some initially theorized that Thor's new hairdo was due to Hemsworth getting his hair cut in real life. However, this does not seem to be the case, as some scenes in the teaser depicted him with the Thunder God's long hair, at least prior to his banishment to the gladiator pits, so it is possible that his hair was sheared during his exile.

While not appearing in the trailer, Digital Spy previously reported that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) will also be appearing in "Thor: Ragnarok," although it is still unknown what his role there will be. Loki (Tom Hiddleston), meanwhile, appears in the teaser. However, like Doctor Strange, it is not yet clear what his role in the film will be.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will feature the Thunder God fighting Hela and attempting to stop Ragnarok, which marks the end of the Asgardians. According to previous interviews, this film will have a more comedic tone compared to the previous films in the series. This may be due to the fact that Waititi is known for his involvement in comedic movies. In fact, he himself indicated that this film will ignore the other "Thor" films. Cheat Sheet reported that Waititi said that the movie makes "an effort to ignore the fact there are other Thor films." Whether this decision is a good or a bad one will be reflected when the movie premieres.

"Thor: Ragnarok" will premiere in theaters on Nov. 3.
