The Minnesota Timberwolves have failed in their recent attempts to pull in key players during this off-season, but according to Star Tribune journalist Jerry Zgoda via Twitter, they are still going to push forward and attempt to trade to build their team. Fansided even points out that their next goal right now is to get Goran Dragic.

Zgoda pointed out that the Timberwolves are currently aiming to get another big player and a guard into the team, hopefully veterans as the Timberwolves are already populated with talented young players. While they may all strong potential they are not well-experienced veterans who can lead the team at the beginning of a game.

According to Fansided, they may be considering getting Goran Dragic who is experienced and can be the team's starting point guard. The report points out that they might be able to get him if they trade out Kris Dunn or Zach LaVine. It is possible the Miami Heat will agree for just one but it is more likely they will want both players if they are to give up Dragic.

The Minnesota Timberwolves did try to steal away Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls but this plan failed and Butler decided to stay with the Bulls even after Derrick Rose signed off to the New York Knicks. They are also considering to trade away Ricky Rubio but to this point no team has yet shown any interest in the deal.

Giving away Dunn or LaVine while keeping Rubio and gaining Dragic is reportedly a good play for the Timberwolves as it will create better balance for the team and add some experienced players that could guide the newcomers that acquired off the draft.

The regular season begins in October, giving the Timberwolves plenty of time to shop Rubio, Dunn and LaVine around until they get the specific players they need to fill out the team structure required.
