'Titanfall 2' news: Teaser trailer released by EA; gameplay trailer to drop June 12

Electronic Arts

Game publisher Electronic Arts has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming game, "Titanfall 2." The game's full trailer will be unveiled on June 12, as announced during the company's Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 conference.

"People like you always want to be the hero. The problem with being a hero is, you have to be willing to die for what you believe in. If I were you, I wouldn't try so hard. You'll live longer," the narrator says during the 45-second teaser trailer. It shows what looks like a downed mech-pod, blistering in smoke, as another Titan robot walks slowly toward it. Before the scene closes, the mech robot slams its gigantic sword into the ground.

Game developer Respawn Entertainment was given another opportunity to develop the second game in the "Titanfall" franchise and fans can expect a big difference with its game mode from the original release. First, it will available in multiple platforms, and second, there will be a story mode or a single player campaign. The first game in the series was released exclusively for Microsoft, its Windows-based PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Also, it is only an online multiplayer game.

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are hoping to replicate the success of the original game. When "Titanfall" was released back in March 2014, it was well received by the gaming community, garnering great game reviews from prominent electronic game publications and winning several big awards, including Best Console Game, Best PC Game, Best Action Game and Best Online Multiplayer.

Just like any other game, "Titanfall" gained not-so-good reviews as well. Fans aired the lack of content, the reason why a single-player mode will now be included in its second game. However, the original game contains a multiplayer campaign mode, entirely separate from the plain multiplayer mode.

"Titanfall" is a first-person shooter game, either as a free-running foot soldier or a pilot for a mech-robot called "Titans."
