Tactical shooter video game "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands'" third update, the "Extended Ops," is now live, bringing new battle crates, modes, maps, and more new contents. The third update will take up 8 GB on Steam, 14 GB on Uplay, and 13.5 GB for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

According to Ubisoft the new battle crates or loot boxes are meant for "cosmetic customization experience." Ubisoft said the "Battle Crates that are designed to offer you an additional and accessible way to complete your cosmetic customization experience, for both the Campaign and Ghost War modes." Loot boxes also contain weapons and vehicles.

Ubisoft clarified that the new loot boxes will not have any negative effect or impact on the video game's system and performance. The Battle Crates are for sale from the in-game store for 400 Store Credits, and gamers will receive three items per loot box. The items are ranked by their level of rarity, rare, epic, and legendary. Item duplication is not possible with the loot boxes. A gamer will not acquire two pieces of a particular item.

"Extended Ops" introduces the new Extraction Mode to the Ghost War mode. The new mode allows teams to defend or attack a safe zone in order to extract or rescue a hostage. Two hostages will be laid out for each round, and the attacking team will have to extract the hostage, while the defending team needs to stop the other group from getting their hands on the hostage.

Two new maps are released for the Extraction Mode, the Institute and the Garage. The video game giant said more maps will come in the near future.

Update number 3 provides better balancing to the entire gameplay and all of its factors like classes, maps, prestige, custom games, and more. A number of bugs were also addressed with the new update as well as issues with the user interface.
