"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" recently launched its latest update for the 2017 game — Extended Ops' Extraction Mode.

Ubisoft, the developer of the video game franchise, announced that the latest update is a compliment to the Ghost War Player versus Player (PvP) mode that came out in October 2017 for the third-person shooter.

The Extraction Mode for "Wildlands" is reminiscent of the extraction mode for "Rainbow Six: Siege" where two teams will go against each other in 4-vs-4 PvP, with the tasks of either extracting or keeping two hostages. Both teams have to make sure that in the process of completing their tasks — either grabbing the hostages and escorting them to one's base or preventing that from happening — the hostages remain alive.

The Extraction Mode also contains two new maps for Ghost War — Institute and Garage. They are currently the only maps available for players, but Ubisoft announced that more maps will be available in the next update. Both Institute and Garage can be played casually or in ranked mode play.

Ubisoft also announced that it has responded to the concerns of the colorblind community by adding "visual options that address all kinds of colorblindness" to both the Ghost War and the campaign modes. In addition, for Player versus Environment (PvE) players, Fallen Ghost weapons are now available in the campaign mode, provided players have installed Fallen Ghost first in their version.

Extended Ops is also introducing Battle Crates which are designed to help players find a better way to complete players' "cosmetic customization experience" for both the Ghost War and campaign modes. As for the Extraction Mode, teams will be utilizing costumes from either the operators of the "Rainbow Six: Siege" or the campaign characters of "Wildlands."

The latest updates will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and XBox One versions of the game. Players must restart and update their platforms if they want to play online.
