Just this week, Ubisoft rolled out a new free update for its latest first-person shooter, "Tom Clancy's The Division." Patch 1.1, dubbed "Incursions," rolled out to all platforms where the game can be played. However, the Xbox One version has a bug that reportedly deleted characters from the players' rosters.

Ubisoft acknowledged that indeed, there was a glitch in the Xbox One version of update 1.1. The developer stated that a fix is on the way, though a specific hotfix date is still undecided.

According to BBC News, the studio promised to restore the missing agents once the files have been uncorrupted. The glitch was apparently caused by a Ubisoft server going down, corrupting all the files.

The developer said, "The game client was unable to read this corrupted data, and simply assumed that the character didn't exist. Once this has been identified, we were able to restore the server to its normal functions, thus ensuring that the issue will no longer occur for other players."

Ubisoft also assures players that, "For those who experienced the issue, your character is not gone. We are currently working on a fix that should make it available shortly."

However, the hotfix itself will take some time to roll out. Ubisoft added that, "Implementing this fix will require a server downtime, and we will let you know when we are ready to perform it."

GamesRadar adds that reportedly, aside from a game downtime, the hotfix will also roll back the accounts of Xbox One players who have been affected by the bug. This means that the progress of players between the onset of patch 1.1 until the time the bug occurred and "deleted" the missing characters, will be lost.

The new update of "The Division" also rolled out to the PS4 and PC versions of the game.
