Ubisoft is currently offering the soon-to-be released "Tom Clancy's The Division" open-world survival shooter game in a playable hands-on demo for the entire Gamescom 2015 event, which began on Aug. 5 and will conclude on Aug. 9. 

The game developer made the announcement regarding "The Division's" participation in the biggest annual video game trade fair in the game's official Facebook page, saying: "GamesCom 2015 has opened its doors and The Division is there, playable, hands-on. We did the math: it's up to 1800 hours of gameplay that are up for grabs!" 

The game studio provided a designated booth in Hall 6.1 of the Koelnmesse (Cologne Trade Fair) in Cologne, Germany for some of the titles under its wing. "The Division" is joined by "Assassin's Creed Syndicate," "For Honor," "Just Dance 2016," "Trackmania Turbo," as well as "Rainbow Six Siege" which also comes from the Tom Clancy franchise. 

In "Tom Clancy's The Division," players are tasked to restore the peace and order in New York after a pandemic suddenly spread around the city during the Black Friday rush. They can opt to customize their characters, weapons, and accessories so they can use it to their advantage. 

Recent reports say that several changes will be seen when the final version of the game comes out next year.

According to the observation of YouTube user MarcoStyle, the game developer has removed the melee and stealth from the game. MarcoStyle explained that Ubisoft may have decided to omit the melees and stealth kills so that these will not be abused when playing multiplayer games. However, the YouTuber also shared that ambushes can still be performed, which could be a disadvantage for those who are expert in using stealth in this type of game. 

However, Ubisoft has yet to confirm if the modes have been omitted or not.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is slated for release on March 8, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
