While publisher Ubisoft already teased that the closed beta phase for its upcoming shooter will open in "early 2016," the company has yet to come out with a specific date when the beta will go live. However, recent speculations floated online that the closed beta for "Tom Clancy's The Division" will open before this month ends.

According to WCCF Tech, a previous message from a third party hinted that the closed beta will go live by January 29. A recent Uplay app that the industry follower managed to take a screenshot of appeared to corroborate the message. The image, an unlocked portion of the mobile Uplay app, clearly stated that the beta phase for "The Division" will open this month, though a specific start date was not indicated.

VG24/7 said that the Uplay access might have been an inadvertent slip by Ubisoft. The mobile app works by unlocking items as rewards for achievements done in Ubisoft games. While the unlocked information was for the "Team Beta: Active," Ubisoft might have intended for the access to open in the latter part of the month, instead of the early slip. However, it might also be that Ubisoft intended for the information to leak out as part of its campaign to gather continuous interest in "The Division."

Ubisoft has yet to confirm if the details are accurate.

Meanwhile, a new trailer for "Tom Clancy's The Division" has been published online. However, instead of the usual highlights of graphics, interface, and multiplayer action, the new footage showcases single-player missions in the title. The new trailer gives hints at how agents can navigate and make their way through a number of enemies, as well as detailing some weapons, items, and gears at the agents' disposal.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" will roll out for current-gen consoles and PC on March 8.
