The next movie in the Transformers series, directed by Michael Bay, is slated for release sometime in June next year. With a little less than a year to go, the shoot for the movie is underway. Needless to say, the speculation for who's who in the cast for the potential blockbuster was thick in the air.

Tformers gives an account of the curious casting call announced by the movie, which further fanned the curiosity of the general public, making us impatient to learn who takes to the big screen in Transformers 5: The Last Knight. The casting call invited young boys to don the roles of extras in the movie, and indicated that filming would take place in the Detroit area. Furthermore, the notice had a peculiar requirement; the young boys who wanted to take a shot needed to have specific waist sizes. Well, we wonder why!

Let's move on to the big names now. When you type in 'transformers: the last knight cast' in the search bar, Google displays the members of the central cast who have been finalized so far. That's how we know that Mark Wahlberg was one of the first names to be signed on board. Currently, he's the only actor from the earlier Transformers movie, Age of Extinction, to retain his role. Other primary cast members include Anthony Hopkins, of Hannibal fame, and Laura Haddock, who played Meredith Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Josh Duhamel, who played William Lennox in three of the earlier Transformers movies, returns in The Last Knight. Talking of reappearances, Tyrese Gibson, who appeared as Robert Epps in the first three films, retains his role in this movie as well. A short while after Josh Duhamel affirmed that he's returning as Lennox, Tyrese Gibson put out a request to the director on social media, asking if he could join the team as Epps again. And that's the story of how he came on board.

IMDB gives us a preview into who the other members of the cast are. This includes Isabela Moner from the TV series Growing Up Fisher, Jerrod Carmichael from The Carmichael Show, and Peter Cullen, who lends his voice once again to the character of Optimus Prime in the upcoming movie.
