The Pfeffermans bring their lovable dysfunctional dynamics overseas. "Transparent," running on its fourth season, will take the audience to Israel where the family gets to know more about their relatives.

As in previous seasons, the Pfeffermans give the family reunion a different twist. Almost half of the entire season takes place in the Holy Land, a place that serves a spiritual convergence for a lot of people. It has also become synonymous with the conflict between two groups who want to assert their dominance in the land.

In all episodes of "Transparent's" fourth season, this conflict is evident in each member of the Pfefferman family.

The discussion on duality with a focus on gender has always been front-and-center in "Transparent." This theme gets a few notches higher with characters' different and shifting views about their own sexual identity and orientation to discussions about whether Israelis or Palestinians deserve to occupy and settle in the West Bank.

Season 4 does not disappoint with emotional twist after twist. For a show where both nothing and everything happens all at the same time, there's a notable increase in cliffhanger scenes. None of it feels cheap and it's all created on the foundation of the emotions of the characters.

"Transparent" made the audience care about the characters even more despite their flaws and lets the audience see them go through the emotional wringer and root for them.

Another notable thing about the show's fourth season is the music used. The show employed the music from "Jesus Christ Superstar" so often that it practically became a supporting player in the ensemble.

This season had little to none missteps. "Transparent" has managed to create another series of beautiful pieces of the story about a dysfunctional family made of flawed people, but at the same will take the bullet for one another.

With all of these things happening in the show, fans can expect the "Transparent" to return. Amazon already confirmed that there will be a fifth season, which will air sometime in 2018.
