A number of much-hyped TV series nowadays tend to deal with either historical figures or events, and the case is no different for Spike TV's "Tut."

"Tut" is a three-part miniseries chronicling the life of what many know as the boy pharaoh. The story progresses on how the pharaoh ascends to the throne and how those around him try to manipulate both events and people to their advantages. The series also tackles the budding relationship between King Tut and Suhad, a beautiful Mitanni to whom the pharaoh owes his life.

The main protagonist is played by Avan Jogia. In an interview with TVLine, he talked about his on-screen time with "Twisted" co-star Kylie Bunbury, who plays Suhad.

"Suhad and Tut have a mutual respect and a love that's very modern in an old world ... " he said. "It was cool to be able to work with someone you have built-in chemistry with. Going into this situation, I had no idea what it was going to be like, so knowing I was taking this on with someone I knew really helped."

The very first installment was released last weekend, and it received mixed reviews from viewers. Some, especially those who are into series that feature mostly gory scenes and disreputable story twists, might find "Tut" to be in their tastes. However, there are also those who are deep into historical significance and accuracy of portrayal, and they gave the premiere a rather ruthless assessment.

The second installment saw King Tut trying to juggle his relationships with those around him while also attempting to stave off a potential invasion. Some observers have keenly noted that the production seems to draw a very fine line between what was real and what was production-inspired, and this makes it almost impossible to predict what will happen in the final, third night.
