The "Two and a Half Men" series is finally coming to an end, and CBS already announced the date for airing the finale in the early months of 2015. 

According to reports, the twelfth and final season of "Two and a Half Men" will end through a one-hour special episode on Feb. 19. The end of CBS's hit comedy sitcom means that Ashton Kutcher's reign as the highest paid TV actor today will also come to a close. 

Based on the article posted on Forbes, the actor allegedly earned over $24 million since he took over the show in June 2012 up to June 2013. His co-star Jon Cryer, who plays the role of Alan Harper, is also the second highest-earning TV actor of this generation, with $21 million earnings during the same period. 

Kutcher joined the show during its ninth season, playing the role of Walden, after the producers decided to kill off Charlie Sheen's character. Charlie Harper was killed off due to the actor's drug abuse problems and his beef against executive producer Chuck Lorre. 

When he heard the news about the end of the series, Sheen reportedly campaigned to let him appear in a cameo role during the series finale. But according to the actor, almost everyone agreed to get him back in the show except for Lorre. 

"Here's what sucks. I got clearance from the whole cast. Les Moonves [CBS President and CEO] ... All the suits. There's one guy who's blocking it," Sheen reportedly said.

Although he indirectly named Lorre during his rants, the actor advised him to "get out of his own way," but acknowledged that the odds are actually slim.

The entire run of the series is filled with other controversies, including Angus T. Jones' resignation from the show. His character Jake is one of the core characters in the series, but when he converted to Seventh-Day Adventist, he mentioned that the show's plot is a "filth that contradicts his moral values." The actor left the show earlier this year.
