UFC 194 rumors: Conor McGregor tops Aldo, rematch looming? [VIDEO]

Conor McGregor finished off Jose Aldo in record time, 13 seconds to be exact, to become the new undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight champion this weekend.

The highly anticipated fight finally took place but somehow too fast that left many stunned. With a lot of fans expecting an action-packed tiff, the perfect and precision timing that McGregor landed on Aldo was something no one had expected.

And just like that, McGregor adds another feather to his cap of achievements, although a rematch looms over the horizon.

Aldo wants a rematch and McGregor seems to have indirectly agreed via the Daily Mail to such, seeing that he was caught up at the moment. On whether changes to that is forthcoming remains to be seen but the rematch is something that is not exactly music to the ears of someone who was hoping to get a shot at the title.

That person is Frankie Edgar who is coming off a stunning knockout (KO) win over Chad Mendes, the same guy whom McGregor disposed at UFC 189 back in July.

Edgar was hoping to get another shot at the title after failing to do so at UFC 156 following a unanimous decision loss to Aldo.

Although it was a long shot even before McGregor came out victorious, it was understandable that Edgar would have to wait a bit for his turn. Rematch was already in the air prior to UFC 194, although McGregor did say prior that it would depend on how the match would go via 411mania.com.

Edgar was hoping to get a chance at the title possibly at UFC 198 this April but as things stand now, it doesn't look pretty.

"I'd be floored," says Edgar via MMA Junkie in the event he would not get an immediate title shot. "That's what I'm hoping doesn't happen. Fingers crossed."
