Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk have long been gone from the WWE for their own reasons and chances are they could face each other again but in a different setting.

Del Rio, aka Alberto El Patron, spent some time talking with some folks as he was gearing up to do color commentary in Spanish for the mixed martial arts (MMA) series Combate Americas via NBC Universo last Sept. 17.

El Patron touched on former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion CM Punk's plans to strut his stuff over at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

As everyone knows, Punk plans to fight in the Octagon soon, although many are apprehensive on what the mixed martial artist can do and on whether or not he can survive a different and punishing setto against seasoned UFC fighters.

El Patron believes that Punk will do just fine in the UFC scene, citing that the former WWE comrade has been keeping himself in shape by doing jiu-jitsu and Thai boxing.

He also touches on the fact that Punk will be a great draw and is someone who can surely draw in pay-per-view (PPV) sales. Although he is still in the preparatory stages, El Patron feels that it will only be a matter of time before Punk finally makes his debut and jumpstart his MMA career.

So would he be open to possibly facing Punk at some point?

El Patron explains that he would be open to the idea but it will all depend on the money involved.

"The offers I received from all of the organizations are so ridiculous that I didn't even think about it. It's really good money for the fighters, because I know what fighters do every time they fight, but I do so well in pro wrestling, why would I do something like that if I'm making the same money for pro wrestling appearances?" says El Patron via Wrestling Inc.
