UFC 189 was supposed to be the long awaited match involving Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo. And as everyone knows, that never materialized.

Aldo withdrew from that fight due to a rib injury and eventually Chad Mendes was tapped to take his place. Despite the legitimacy of the injury, McGregor berated Aldo for not competing through the pain despite what many felt would be a big advantage for the brash talking Irishman.

After McGregor's triumph was over, it was bared that McGregor was hiding an injury as well yet pushed through with the fight. The Notorious was apparently injured as well and it turns out that he tore 80 percent of his ACL.

McGregor details that he was barely able to walk and such was the reason why he did not do any live training or wrestling prior to the bout. Such also explained why he was taken down by Mendes on several occasions and it took a miscalculated guillotine choke for McGregor to capitalize.

Although Mendes had constantly ranted that the outcome would have been different had he been given the proper time to prepare, the injury somehow evens the conditions set at that time. In the end, it turns out that McGregor won the bout on one leg and that alone is indeed something the Irishman can brag about.

With the true score on that injury revealed, McGregor now hits back at Aldo for not having the courage to do the same. Although the area of the injury was far different, that fact is McGregor has proven he could fight through pain.

Does this give McGregor an edge over Aldo heading into their rescheduled clash for UFC 194?

Aldo and McGregor will finally go at it this Dec. 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This upcoming event should finally determine who deserves to be called the best UFC featherweight fighter.

Watch out for fireworks because this is one tiff everyone expects to really explode!
