UFC rumors 2016: Fabricio Werdum miffed at Conor McGregor's tirades

Fabricio Werdum seems to be a cool guy, but one thing that he will not stand for is being disrespected.

Werdum was, apparently, aware of the show that Conor McGregor gave fans during the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 197 press conference which was highlighted by his constant bashing and comments at trying to make UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos look bad.

On several occasions when dos Anjos was being asked questions, McGregor would butt in and make fun of the champion. If it were any other fighter, a brawl would likely have ensued. Instead, dos Anjos was calm and composed, although one could feel him wanting to explode at some point.

Werdum, a close friend of dos Anjos, says that he would have probably slapped McGregor and do something about it.

Dos Anjos was cut off on several occasions and, apparently, Werdum was peeved. Nevertheless, Werdum believes that his "brother" will let all that out when the two face off this March at UFC 197.

Werdum adds that if there is one who can shut up McGregor, dos Anjos is the best one to do it. The champ has faced bigger and better fighters than McGregor and there is no question that he is boiling inside to give McGregor a beating.

McGregor, despite debuting in the lightweight division, is, however, someone whom dos Anjos cannot take for granted. Everyone knows how he finished off Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in just 13 seconds, so that will certainly run in the mind of dos Anjos as well.

Either way, the pressure seems to be more on dos Anjos. If McGregor wins, he becomes part of UFC history and will, of course, have more right to brag and shoot out his mouth.

A loss will hardly matter since he is still the UFC featherweight champion.

So the best approach by dos Anjos against McGregor is to give him a sound beating. A lone win will not be enough so the lightweight champion will need to render his vowed punishment to make a statement.
