While waiting for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" next year, fans of the third-person action-adventure game can look forward to the release of "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection,"  the remastered single-player edition of the first three games in the franchise.

BluePoint Games redeveloped the "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves," and "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception" to make the PlayStation 3-exclusive titles playable on the new-generation PlayStation 4 consoles.

But aside from the improved graphics and gameplay updates, the game developer also included additional game modes for a better gaming experience for those who have already played the games before, as well as those who will only catch up with the series before "Uncharted 4's" release.

The new game modes include:

  • Speed Run Mode – This comes with a new timer that allows players to keep track of their gameplay time while they run through the areas of the game. The recorded time can also be seen by other players for comparison.
  • Explorer Mode – This is an easy mode that players who want to get in the thick of the game's plot could enjoy, since the level of combat difficulty of the game has been reduced.
  • Brutal Difficulty Mode – The game developer said that this mode will be a lot more difficult compared to the Crushing Difficulty. Considered as the game's ultimate challenge, players must first defeat a game in the Crushing Difficulty mode to be able to unlock this one.

Also, the soon-to-be released installment in the "Uncharted" series will get the Photo Mode that is being included in most PlayStation 4-exclusive titles for image sharing with other players of the game.

Aside from the new game modes, the developer and Sony Computer Entertainment also released a new trailer on the U.S. PlayStation blog that not only focuses on the plots of the first three "Uncharted" games, but also reveals the history of the relationship between the game's protagonist Nathan Drake and his long-trusted mentor Sully.

"Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" will be released in Europe on Oct. 7, while the North American markets will see the game on Oct. 9.
