Quinn King (Constance Zimmer) will be visited by a friend when "UnREAL" returns for season 3.

Deadline reveals that former "Cold Case" cast member Tracie Thoms was tapped to portray the role of Fiona, Quinn's longtime close friend.

According to the report, Fiona is working as a high-end entertainment industry executive. She also happens to be a fun-spirited gay woman.

Thoms is known for portraying the role of detective Kat Miller in "Cold Case." She also appeared in several TV series, including "Wonderfalls" from Fox and "Harry's Law" on NBC.

Aside from Thoms' character, the third season of "UnREAL" will also introduce the show's very first female suitor Serena (Caitlin FitzGerald). She will be pursued by an interesting mix of male contestants, including the Wall Street investment banker Jasper (Bart Edwards), the conservative race car driver Billy (Tyler Hynes), the Miami real estate tycoon Preston (Cameron Bancroft), the charming social media star Zach (Melvin Gregg), the tough ballet dancer Alexi (Alex Sparrow), and the single father and firefighter Owen (Alex Hernandez), among others.

The upcoming season will also introduce Chet's (Craig Bierko) new girlfriend Crystal (Kassandra Clementi) and Jay's (Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman) boyfriend Xavier.

Another casting report mentions that "Ransom" alum Brandon Jay McLaren was tapped to portray the role of psychologist Dr. Simon. According to the character's description, the doctor used to be a corporate crisis counselor who is also known to be a "fixer." He is also believed to be more ethical and professional compared to Dr. Wagerstein (Amy Hill).

"UnREAL" is co-created by Sarah Gertrude Shapiro and Marti Noxon. The show is a fictitious take on the behind-the-scene events of producing a dating reality show.

Lifetime has yet to announce the official premiere date of "UnREAL" season 3, but the series is expected to return to the network this summer.
