The new Verizon Wear24 smartwatch is going to be on sale on May 11.

Two months ago, Verizon announced that it is going to have an Android wearable device coming to the market. However, they did not indicate the specifications and release date.

On Monday, the company announced the launch of Verizon Wear24 smartwatch, which is 24 days before its expected release date.

The device comes with a 1.39-inch active matrix organic light emitting diode display (AMOLED) screen with 290 pixels per inch resolution. It comes with a 450 mAh battery with wireless charging. Verizon Wear24 also features an IP67 water resistance rating, which means that it can withstand up to 3.3 feet of water for about 30 minutes.

Verizon boasts a 4G LTE connected smartwatch that runs exclusively on its network. Through the device, users can do several functionalities such as making calls or sending text messages, streaming music, as well as getting notifications from contacts, without the need for a phone.

As for those who want to do more, they can opt to have Wear24, along with Verizon Unlimited and Android Wear 2.0. Here, they can stream unlimited music by using Wear24 and pairing the device with a Bluetooth headphone. This is perfect for those who want to leave their smartphones behind while doing outdoor and other physical activities.

In addition, users can use hands-free features in Ask Google, such as setting a timer or playing a particular genre of a song. They can also browse or download Google Play application directly to Wear24.

Verizon Wear24 costs $349.99 for the standalone wearable device. On the other hand, for those who want to purchase the device with a tie up, the smartwatch costs $299.99 with a two-year contract. Meanwhile, users who already have an existing Verizon plan may add Wear24 for $5 per month, plus taxes and other fees.

The new wearable is available in color options of gunmetal black, rose gold, and stainless steel.
