History HD

History HD released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming season 4 part 2 of "Vikings" during the San Diego Comic Con. While the footage has not shown much in regards to spoilers, it does tease some of the conflicts that are coming when the show returns, particularly regarding Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).

The trailer starts off with the village of Kattegat being attacked by a storm, a premonition of the assault that may take place. It then cuts to a much older Ragnar who has just returned and while he was once revered as a hero he is no longer so warmly welcomed. There is a clip in the trailer where Ragnar is seen being kept in a small cage as a prisoner.

Season 4 will also explore Ragnar's son from England although their full story is not revealed in the trailer.

King Aelle (Ivan Kaye) is shown in small clips in the trailer and it is revealed that while Ragnar is experiencing issues at Kattegat he will also have to deal with Aelle gathering forces that might attack the Vikings. There is also the issue of the French and the rest of the Europeans also coming back to pin Ragnar in trouble.

Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) and Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) are shown in the trailer, confirming that they are still alive for the first part of the fourth season. A report from Deadline confirms that Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who already worked with showrunner Michael Hirst, will be joining the cast. He will be filling in the void left by Clive Standen who has departed now that he has been cast for the NBC series "Taken."

Part 1 ended with Bjorn heading to the Mediterranean although the clip did not showcase where he would be going and what kind of adventures he'd be jumping into.

"Vikings" season 4 part 2, also referred to as season 5 by many, will premiere this fall.
