Ahead of the season 4 premiere of "Vikings," the show has been revealing new teasers which give fans an idea of what's to come in the new season. One promo that was exclusively released on Entertainment Tonight shows how Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) will be embracing his fate when the show returns to History.

"Power, it's dangerous," Ragnar says in the clip. "This, I have always known. Look at what power has given me since I invaded Paris."

"You see, the problem with power is the more you have, the more others want it," Ragnar continues. "And in my world, power can only be truly be built...with blood."

Soldiers are seen feasting and celebrating, and Ragnar's son, Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) is seen at the table. Lagertha (Kathryn Winnick) is also seen at the end of the table, and later, the doors of the now empty dining hall opens and snakes slither in as Ragnar looks on. Ragnar is seen calmly standing in the middle of the hall as he is surrounded by snakes, looking as if he has submitted to his fate.

As the camera moves in for a close-up of his face, he gives in to his destiny: "Only fools believe that they can live forever by avoiding the fight. I embrace the idea of death."

Back in season 3, Ragnar faked his death so that his men could invade Paris. Now, he returns home and is gravely ill, and as his health fails him, the people closest to him—his wife, his son, and Lagertha—are plotting to take over the throne.

In the upcoming season, Bjorn will try to prove that he is worthy of the throne as he goes into the wilderness to prove to himself and to Ragnar that he can withstand even the harshest conditions. But it looks like the cold weather will be the least of his problems as new promo photos released by Entertainment Weekly shows Bjorn going up against a huge bear.

"Vikings" season 4 premieres on Feb. 18 on History.
