In the next episode of "Vikings," Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and the English forces strike back against the Northmen to take back the town of York.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Homeland" was just released recently and showed Heahmund on his horse telling his officers outside of York, "I had a vision. All those dead bodies were of pagan Northmen." The armored soldiers then stealthily enter the town under the cover of night to control it. All of a sudden, they are met by a horde of Vikings waiting in the center. The English charge at them with all their might as they swing their swords at the barbarians. "God reigneth over the heathen!" Heahmund shouts at the Viking leader Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen). However, Ivar just laughs menacingly at him with blood trickling down his face.

Meanwhile, Bjorn Lothbrok (Alexander Ludwig) is able to make his way to the Mediterranean with his group to explore the outer regions. "What lies ahead are new cities, worlds, people, and places. My father would have relished this opportunity," the Viking says to his crew. They disembark from their ship and travel through the desert by horse. They then come across a fortified city in which they enter to see what it contains. They are surprised to see that there is a market where many exotic things are sold.

In the last episode, the sons of Ragnar — Ivar, Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), and Hvitserk (Marco Ilso) — attacked the town of York and raided its people. Many of the English perished as the Vikings ruthlessly went from house to house and pillaged everything. Heahmund heard about the takeover and was devastated.

"Vikings" season 5 episode 3 will hit the small screen on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 9 p.m. EST on History Channel.
