Volvo S90 specs news: Upcoming vehicle highly influenced by 2016 CX90 SUV
A lot falls on the shoulders of the Volvo S90, but it seems that the coming of the successor of the Volvo S80 will still need more than a year to officially come out in the open.
Although that seems a bit far off considering its actual scheduled debut is in 2017 and most likely at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2017, the things to look forward to surrounding the said vehicle has started to leak online.
Images of the Volvo S90 has been spreading and from the looks of it, the S90 will be something that would compete with other leading car models like Mercedes Benz E-Class and the BMW 5-Series.
The S90 variant will be highly influenced by the brand's other vehicle, the Volvo XC90. With the XC90 getting some impressive and positive reception, the S90 is seen as the ultimate test to measure how their lined up products will fare in the next four years.
The Volvo S90 is a four-door sedan that will feature an attractive external design highlighted by a bold radiator grille with four vertical slats. The headlights will be guided by a chrome finish complimented by large rear tail lamps, quarter windows, and a long wheel base.
On the inside, the S90 will offer folks a roomy cabin with leather-covered seats. It will also come with some advanced technology perks like a huge touchscreen, TFT screen and digital-based gauges.
The S90 seems revved up with power as well, thanks mainly to its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The engine is reportedly capable of producing 316 horsepower at 5,700 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 400 Newton meters (Nm) of peak torque at 2,200 to 4,500 rpm. This is further aided by an eight-speed manual transmission that should account for more power and make it more fuel efficient in the process.
Could the Volvo S90 be one of the best cars to watch out for in 2017?
