The Washington Wizards might have a new shooting guard if the rumored trade deal involving the Cleveland Cavaliers' Iman Shumpert pushes through.

According to reports, the Wizards might have to let go of their big man Marcin Gortat to get Shumpert from the Cavs. A report from Inquisitr claimed that this is despite the fact that Gortat has played well with the Wizards since 2013.

However, the Wizards might have to let him go after the camp signed free agent Ian Mahinmi in a $64 million deal last month. According to the report, the Wizards believe that the 32-year-old is not worth the $60 million five-year contract that he signed in 2014.

Meanwhile, the Wizards are still on the edge as they await the recovery of their point guard John Wall after his knee surgery this summer.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Wall revealed that his recovery is right on track.

"I'm doing all that right now, working out and doing all that type of things, but I'm not in no rush," the 25-year-old three-time NBA All-Star said. "I'm very excited to be back on the court because I will tell you sitting on the table all day and doing those boring exercises is no fun. Six hours out of the day, it's the frustrating part in this."

Wall also admitted that recovering from the knee surgery is another challenge that he has to overcome.

"It's another challenge I have to take, but I'm willing to conquer [it] and do whatever I have to do to prepare myself and come back 100 percent and have a better season than what I had last year," Wall said. "It's all up to me. I'm doing two times a day, attacking it the best way I can, and I'm attacking like I'm playing in a basketball game."
