Watch Dogs new patch update reportedly makes problems worse; resolves nothing

Ubisoft released a patch update for the PC version of Watch Dogs a couple of weeks ago and avid gamers were expecting that the new update will resolve some of the issues of the game. However, it seemed that the new patch did not fix the bugs, but made it worse.

Gamers worldwide complained about various bugs found on the recently released Watch Dogs game. The game topped the Billboard chart last month. However, gamers tended to avoid playing Ubisoft's game for a while due to the glitches.

The game maker claimed that it added a number of performance improvements in the patch it released weeks ago in response to the complaints of the gamers on the various glitches found in the game. To the gamers' disappointment, however, the said update did not fix the stuttering and endless loading of the game and, in some cases, it makes it even worse, according to a lot of reports.

Gamers are following different web sites such as NeoGAF, Guru3D, Reddit and Watch_Dogs official forum to keep informed with the latest update regarding the fix updates from Ubisoft. However, the web sites were now plagued with complaints and to add credibility to the reports, a lot of users said that the experience is far worse compared to the time when they had not installed the update yet. Surprisingly, even gamers with high end graphics hardware like SLI Titan cards are experiencing the same problems.

According to the press release of Ubisoft, some of the PC-specific includes:

  • Fixed graphical glitches on Low & Medium settings.
  • Fixed some crashes on SLI configurations.
  • Implemented several performance improvements.
  • Implemented a few control improvements.
  • Fixed issues causing infinite messaging and timing-out when trying to access the Online Shop from the Extras Menu while Uplay is set to Offline mode.
  • Fixed issues connecting to a Multiplayer game.
  • Implemented several mouse modifications.
  • Fixed "Drinking Game" control issue where wrong information was displayed when played with a gamepad.
  • Fixed "Chess Game" control issue.
  • Fixed bug where the invasion setting was never saved.
  • Fixed graphical issues during cut scenes and cinematics.
  • Fixed several graphical and texture bugs.
  • Removed Vista OS check to prevent false positives.
  • Added game version in main menu.
