'Wayward Pines' season 1 spoilers: Theresa, Ben Burke to encounter Sheriff Arnold Pope in episode 3

Wayward Pines Fox

"Wayward Pines" is turning out to be a return to form for director/ executive producer M. Night Shyamalan, and episode 3, "Our Town, Our Law" seems to reinforce this with its tantalizing take on tension. According to the official synopsis, Theresa and Ben Burke are continuing their hunt for Ethan when they encounter Sheriff Arnold Pope, and Ethan gets even more stuck in town when he is given a home by real estate agent Peter McCall.

The previous episode ended on an explosive note when Kate became responsible for Beverly's sudden death and now, fans of the show understand that discussing about a person's past life is not allowed in the town of Wayward Pines. In episode 3, Ethan will have to decide if he can still trust Kate or if she has completely turned over.

In the promotional trailer for the next episode, he even invites her to go with him, perhaps to follow the plan indicated by Evans' map, but Kate only tells him that he'll never make it out alive. This hints that, perhaps, she has not completely surrendered to the town's customs but also understands that she is trapped with no way out.

Ethan's wife and son, Theresa and Ben, were also revealed to be on the way to Wayward Pines when they encounter Sheriff Arnold Pope himself. In the promotional video, Pope secretly breaks their car's fuel line and tells them that they have a leak. It could either be that he is simply sending them back home or this is his way of trapping them in town as well. If they do get stuck, then this might stop Ethan's plan of escaping and will force him to stay in order to get his family out along with him.

Episode 3 of "Wayward Pines" titled "Our Town, Our Law" is scheduled to air on May 28. Guest stars include Justin Kirk, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and BJ Harrison.
