Aside from helping users navigate their way around traffic and getting to their destinations faster, Waze brings a new and exciting update that makes the app more fun to use. Users can now record their own voices and set it as the new Waze voice to help users make their way from point A to point B.

If users were excited about the add-on Waze voices that they can download featuring the favorites, Morgan Freeman and Disney and Pixar's "Cars" star Lightning McQueen, then this is an update that's long overdue.

According to the news update of the staff behind Waze, the app's users can record their own voices for a new twist in the turn-by-turn directions. Users need not follow the prompted script and can express themselves however they want but Waze gives a gentle reminder to remember safety first.

The new Waze update is now available for Android and will come soon for iOS users. The update also lets users choose a friend, family member or significant other to record their voices. In bumper-to-bumper traffic that can't be avoided, hearing something other than the monotonous default Waze voice might actually help drivers navigate in a calmer fashion.

To enjoy the update, users just need to go to Settings, scroll down to Advanced Settings, find Sound and Voice, choose Voice Recorder and turn on the voice recorder option. Users will then have to go through all the prompts commonly used by Waze. It may take some time to go through the entire list of prompts but it will all be worth it.

According to CNET, one other thing to keep in mind when updating the Waze voice is that users will no longer hear street names so that's another thing to factor in especially if users are planning to navigate through an unfamiliar area.
