West End stars come together for evangelical Christmas extravaganza
Christian performers from across the UK and some of the biggest shows in the West End such as Les Miserables, The Phantom of The Opera, Matilda and Wicked are coming together on December 3 to present an evangelical show.
West End Has Faith at Christmas will include contemporary music, dance and readings as well as traditional carols in order to raise money to support the fostering and adoption charity Home For Good.
Cameron Potts from the group West End has Faith explained: 'West End Has Faith exists to share Jesus and nurture a Christian community within the West End and theatres across the UK. We are delighted that our concert, West End Has Faith at Christmas will support Home For Good, a charity which is close to our heart. It's so exciting to have colleagues from across the West End as well as current drama schools performing with us, helping to bring together a real sense of community and a wide variety of performing experience.'
Kirsty McIntyre at Home for Good said: 'Hospitality is at the heart of the Christmas story. We see it in the welcome of Mary and Joseph by the innkeeper and in the welcome that Jesus shows us by coming into the world as God with us. At this time of year, when people think about family and the future, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with West End Has Faith to encourage people to consider how they can offer a welcome to our nation's most vulnerable children through fostering and adoption.'
West End Has Faith at Christmas will feature songs from Love Beyond the Musical, an epic musical last seen at the Wembley Arena in 2014 which covers the whole story of the Bible, as well as songs from Scrooge the Musical, Dear Evan Hanson and traditional Christmas music in newly written arrangements as well as audience favourites.
Artists appearing include 35 Christian performers as well as the West End Gospel Choir, including many who are taking a day off from their 8-show-a-week schedules in the West End, such as Anna McGarahan (currently in Les Miserables), Hannah Grace (currently in The Phantom of the Opera), Katy Hanna (currently in Wicked), Simon Shorten (currently in Matilda), Shaw Taylor (currently in Les Miserables), Rosemary Annabelle (currently in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Kirsty Fuller and Zoe Rogers (currently in 42nd Street), Jack Wilcox (currently in An American in Paris) and award winning soprano, Tabitha Webb. Also taking part are the West End Has Faith Co-Founder David Birch (currently in Matilda) and Katy Treharne (previously Christine in The Phantom of the Opera).
