Fans of the science fiction western television series "Westworld" are still waiting for HBO to announce the premiere date of the second season. According to the show's creators, the second season will be more violent than the first. Production for season 2 has temporarily stopped due to wildfires across California.

Initial reports indicated that season 2 will come out in spring 2018. "Westworld" star Evan Rachel Wood who portrays Dolores Abernathy also confirmed the report. Wood replied to a fan via Twitter who asked when season 2 will come out. Wood tweeted, "Spring 2018."

The trailer for season 2 has already been released a few months ago, and it reveals a rather much bloody storyline compared to the first set of episodes. During an interview with TvLine, co-creators and couple Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan did agree with the indications shown by the trailer. Nolan said, "You've (Lisa Joy) made it far more violent and disturbing than we ever intended. It was quite a placid episode, and Lisa has kind of turned it into a bloodbath."

There are also no updates from the show's creators and producers about new cast members joining the ensemble. One big reveal, though, about the cast is that television star Ben Barnes will be returning to "Westworld" in season 2 as Logan. During an interview with Screen Rant, Barnes stated that he had been in contact with the producers regarding season 2. "I definitely have heard because I can tell you that I have been on set at least once already."

However, HBO announced that production for season 2 had to be put on hold due to severe wildfires wreaking havoc in southern California. In a statement, HBO said in a statement, "Due to nearby wildfires, Westworld stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it's safe to do so."

"Westworld's" very own Jeffrey Wright even tweeted, "Got an unexpected and unfortunate day off owing to the #Creekfire & #RyeFire. Be safe, folks."
