It looks like Windows 10 Mobile will be exclusive to higher-specced Windows phones. Microsoft has announced that there won't be a second wave of smartphones getting the software.

The list of the handsets currently receiving Windows 10 Mobile does not include the ones with 512MB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processors. The Nokia Lumia Icon isn't also qualified for the update, apparently.

Interestingly, Neowin has been noting how Microsoft referred to the list as the first group of devices to get Windows 10 Mobile. As it turns out, the list they gave earlier includes each and every device eligible for the update. These devices are as follows:

In a blog post announcing the rollout of Windows 10 Mobile, although Microsoft referred to the abovementioned devices as "first" to get the update, the Redmond-based company did hint that they will also be the last.

"Windows Phone devices did not meet our expectations for quality in experience with Windows 10 preview builds, and that feedback helped us choose which devices would receive the update to Windows 10," Microsoft wrote.

This comes as a frustration to many, especially to those who held on to Microsoft's early promise that Windows 8-powered devices are making the jump to Windows 10 Mobile as well.

As for Windows devices from LG, HTC and Yezz, the OEMs have decided to bump up the Lancet, Billy phones and the One M8 to Windows 10 Mobile.
