Chris Pine's deal with Warner Bros. to star in one of its upcoming DC Movie Universe projects has been highly speculated. Now, it has been revealed that he agreed to portray the role of Steve Trevor in "Wonder Woman" opposite Gal Gadot.

The Wrap exclusively reported that the "Star Trek" actor agreed to be the love interest of Gadot's Diana Prince, but he will also be involved in more action-packed scenes .

Previously, there were widespread rumors about Pine appearing in a DC comics-inspired film but fans couldn't tell which one. Aside "Wonder Woman," the 34-year-old actor was also reportedly being considered to star as Hal Jordan in the "Green Lantern" movie reboot, "Green Lantern Corps," alongside Tyrese Gibson to be shown in 2020.

Warner Bros. has not responded to The Wrap's report, but if Pines will indeed be appearing in the first "Wonder Woman" film, his possible participation in the "Green Lantern" reboot will no longer push through.

Before the production for the "Wonder Woman" film begins, Pine will still work on the set of "Star Trek Beyond" as Captain Kirk which will premiere next summer, and in his post-apocalyptic film "Z for Zachariah" alongside Margot Robbie and Chiwetel Ejiofor, to be released on Aug. 28.

"Wonder Woman" will be the first standalone feature that will concentrate on the character. It will be the fourth installment in the DC Comics' shared universe films.

Gadot signed to a three-picture deal with Warner Bros. Before her solo movie, Wonder Woman and her alter-ego Diana Prince will be introduced in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" which will be released on March 25, 2016. According to film director Zack Snyder, Wonder Woman's appearance in "Batman v Superman" will play an important role in tying in the Justice League.  .

The "Wonder Woman" movie is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2017.
