WWE news update 2018: Finn Balor to build up feud with the Miz until Wrestlemania?

He might have not been granted his second shot at the Universal Championship opportunity yet, but Finn Balor might be on his way to win the second most important singles title in the Raw roster when he faces the reigning Intercontinental Champion, the Miz.

There are rumors floating around that the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) creative department is trying to work out an angle with the two superstars in the coming weeks that will eventually culminate in an Intercontinental Championship match at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Finn Balor's journey in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been like a roller coaster ride. From being the longest reigning NXT champion, Balor was pushed to become the first ever WWE Universal champion just months after being promoted to the main roster.

However, an injury he suffered during the championship match in Summer Slam required him to relinquish the title he had won the very next day, making him by far the shortest reigning Universal champion.

Many have hoped that he would pick up right where he left off upon his return but instead he was booked in a rather odd way, such as pulling off impressive victories over a top star like Bray Wyatt but then lose to Kane the following week. The booking put him in a very confusing situation as fans could no longer see how he would fit into the title picture.

Things started looking better for Balor when he reunited with his Bullet Club teammates Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, defeating the Miz and his cohorts, but the confusion only seemed to continue as Balor put on a very impressive 57-minute performance during the Royal Rumble, only to lose to John Cena for an Elimination Chamber qualifier the following night.

That is why the feud with the Miz is welcome news for Balor fans as it would at least set the Irishman down a secure path, and with the Miz having his own group to battle with Balor, it would be a good opportunity to build up the Balor Club on the side.

It has been one year and a half since Balor held a major championship, and if rumors on Miz feud are true, then fans might see the Intercontinental titles around the Balor Club's leader soon.
