WWE rumors, news 2016: Conor McGregor angers WWE superstars; Raw and Smackdown stars, former talents respond
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar Conor McGregor is known for spitting the most intense of trash talks and for expressing his opinion without fear or favor and in his latest tirade, he made a prey out of the entire World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) roster.
The blasting happened in a recent conference call and began when the mixed martial artist was asked if he will one day grace WWE. After all, other UFC stars like Ronda Rousey already did. WWE even brought Brock Lesnar back to the octagon for UFC 200.
"I have thought about [WWE]. For the most part, those WWE guys are [expletive], to be honest. They're messed up [expletive], if you ask me," McGregor said (via Rolling Stone).
"Fair play to Brock, he got in and fought, but at the end of the day he was juiced up to the [expletive] eyeballs, so how can I respect that?" the UFC Featherweight Champion went on to say.
WWE fans did not like what they heard one bit. However, it is best not to expect an apology from The Notorious, who went at it again on Twitter when called out by wrestling fans.
"I didn't mean no disrespect to the WWE fans. What I meant to say was that I'd slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday's," McGregor tweeted out.

Several superstars also fired back at the Irishman, including Ric Flair, who accused McGregor of copying the style of The Nature Boy sans the class.
Coming from a guy who built a career copying my persona, I expected the type of class we get from Ronda or Anderson. pic.twitter.com/iVoC0Xva5g

Chris Jericho also made sure to call out the UFC superstar. "Sorry pal, no disrespect to [you], but my fights are legit, unlike the fixed fights [you] have in UFC. I'll embarrass [you]," YTJ tweeted.

The Phenomenal AJ Styles also had something to say, taking a shot at the UFC division where McGregor is champion. "I think McGregor could do well in the featherweight division... if the WWE had one," he posted.

With all that said, it is safe to say that McGregor is not paying a visit to the squared circle anytime soon despite the massive potential of a storyline around it.
However, Yahoo Sports says it is not entirely off the table due to the Irish fighter's "penchant for cross promoting and interest in money."
