"X-Men: Days of Future Past" was indeed a great movie and one noteworthy thing about it, perhaps in all "X-Men" movies too, is the superb casting. Blink is surely one of them.

Now that the latest installment of the "X-Men" movie franchise is out on DVD, The Star had a chat with Fan BingBing, the actress who plays Blink. She shared details about her character and how she felt playing Blink.

Blink was a breath of fresh air from the entire cast of the movie. Not only was her mutant skills awesome, there's one more thing that viewers immediately noticed... she's Asian. Traditionally, Blink is not Asian in the comics. As you may have noticed, most of the characters in the comic series were predominantly white and Blink was a Caucasian.

"I am contracted to appear in the next four X-Men films and it's going to be really amazing," BingBing said. "In 14 years since the X-Men films started, this is the first time an Asian mutant is in the film. So, it's going to be really interesting." BingBing spoke through a translator during the interview.

BingBing shared that she couldn't resist the role and it only took 20-minutes to get her to sign on the movie. "In the comics, Blink is a Caucasian girl, so I was curious why Bryan wanted an Asian to play the role. He said that it's time for Blink to make an appearance and, for her debut, she has to be simply marvelous. It was an offer I couldn't refuse."

Considering this was BingBing's first experience in filming with tons of green screen behind her, she did pretty well. However, the filming was still a bit hard for her.

"It was really hard to visualize the portals and Blink just keeps creating a new one every second," said BingBing. "The director told me to look at the lights because that represent the portals, and I remember this one big scene where I have to create so many different portals, it was crazy. Thankfully, when I watched the movie at the New York premiere, there were all these beautiful purple portals that made it all look real." Well, she did look amazing too, right?
