Despite the Xbox 360 being over 10 years old, there are still more than a few players who enjoy it, and that's why recent rumors that the console's servers would be shut down soon alarmed a bunch of gamers.

According to the rumors, the Xbox 360's servers would be shut down sometime in November.

It's unclear exactly where the rumors may have popped up from, although as GameSpot noted that there was a time back in 2013 when Microsoft marketing executive Yusuf Mehdi seemed to hint at the possibility that support for the server would last for at least three more years.

That would have meant that the Xbox 360's servers would have been set for termination sometime this year.

The good news is that the rumor of the servers being terminated soon appears to be nothing more than mere hoax, at least according to Xbox head Phil Spencer.

Spencer was recently asked on Twitter specifically about whether or not the Xbox 360's servers would be taken offline in November. In response, Spencer simply said "not true," effectively denying that the company was indeed planning to terminate service for the Xbox 360 in November.

It's still very likely that Microsoft will terminate support for the Xbox 360 sometime soon, although when that will be remains a mystery.

In related news, a case related to the Xbox 360 will soon be making its way to the Supreme Court.

The case will be about whether or not Microsoft should face a class action lawsuit pertaining to claims about an alleged design flaw that exists within the Xbox 360, Polygon reported.

The plaintiffs allege that a design flaw led to the console scratching some of the discs that were being used for it.

Microsoft has argued that the case should not be presented as a class action lawsuit because some claims have already been dismissed previously.

Microsoft has claimed that the disc scratching takes place not because of a design flaw in the console, but rather due to some users mishandling the Xbox 360.
