The offiical Xbox Games with Gold site, managed by Larry Hryb aka Major Nelson, has revealed the list of free games that Games with Gold subscribers can download for the month of September. As noted in the site, several of the games are AAA titles such as "Forza Horizon" and "Mirror's Edge."

For Xbox One owners the Indie RPG title "Earthlock: Festival of Magic" will be available from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30. The game utilizes a traditional turn-based battle system and is set in the world of Umbra, a desert planet that stopped spinning for thousands of years.

The game will officially release on Sept. 1 and normally costs $29.99 but Xbox Games with Gold subscribers can get it for free. It is also available on PC via Steam, Mac, PS4 and Wii U.

"Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" will be available for Xbox One members starting Sept. 16 and will continue to be available until Oct. 15. The game focuses on the assassin named Shao Jun and unlike other titles in the franchise it is designed as a 2D platformer focusing more on stealth than assassinations, similar to "Mark of the Ninja." This game is normally purchased on the Xbox Live store for $9.99.

Xbox 360 owners will gain access to critically praised "Forza Horizon" racing game from Sept. 1 to Sept. 15. From Sept. 16 to the end of the month this will be swapped with the first-person parkour game "Mirror's Edge." Both games are also accessible to Xbox One players due to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program. The former is normally sold for $19.99 while the latter would cost $14.99.

It is also noted by Gamespot that Xbox One players can still avail of "WWE 2K16" for free until Sept. 15. This is part of the current celebration of the franchise and preparation for the launch of "WWE 2K17" this October, where retired wrestler Bill Goldberg will serve as a special character and is also featured on the game's cover.
