The Xbox One's NFL app will now be introducing the new feature known as Next Gen Stats to help elevate the viewing experience for fans.

Next Gen Stats basically works by providing viewers with information related to the game that they may never have had access to before. For the most part, Next Gen Stats will be giving viewers a look at the game that breaks the action happening on the field into more tangible and understandable tidbits by utilizing symbolic representations.

For example, viewers will now be able to see exactly the kind of route that a specific wide receiver may have run or even the way a cornerback reacted specifically to the quarterback's actions, according to Gamespot. Next Gen Stats will not be limited to telling fans more about skill position players either, as it can even provide a symbolic representation of a play involving defensive and offensive tackles.

Using the updated NFL app for Xbox One, fans can even see just how fast a player may be running, and viewers can even engage in a weekly game where they cast their votes for which player they believe will run the fastest in that given timeframe.

The revamped NFL app for Xbox One will also be more helpful to fantasy football players, as it will now allow them keep tabs on specific players. During the course of watching a game, users can receive stat updates for specific players they can choose, allowing them to track the performance of their fantasy teams more accurately.

The NFL app will also be bringing back the video clips and real-time game feeds for fans to gorge on as they enjoy a fun weekend of watching football, according to The Verge.

The NFL app for Xbox One will be available just in time for the start of the upcoming season next month.
