While it has already been confirmed that the new Xiaomi Mi 5 will be launched before the month ends, not much is confirmed about the upcoming flagship's specs, design, and features. However, there are a number of supposed leaks that may give fans a clue on what to expect from Xiaomi's new flagship iteration.

According to a post on the MiUI forums, with the launch of the new Mi 5 just days away, Xiaomi is slowly spreading out hints and teasers about the device. Reportedly, one of the confirmed details about the new Mi 5 is that Xiaomi will be providing the flagship lineup with its own item accessories such as covers and cases.

The first accessory to be unveiled for the Mi 5 is a soft, protective case, and the case is thin enough at 0.45 mm. It looks to be an "invisible" cover for the Mi 5. According to some fans, checking out the cover teaser, it looks like the Mi 5 will launch with either a 5.2-inch or, at the most, 5.5-inch dimension.

Since this cover is expected to be mounted on the back panel of the device, fans have been thinking of the cover having its slot placements for the Mi 5's features such as the slots for the fingerprint scanner and the camera lens.

However, the protective case is a straight-up cover, without any slots on it. This led some fans wondering how the features mounted on the back of the device will work.

According to some of the comments on the post, this might mean that the Mi 5 will have a physical button on the front, which will also serve as the fingerprint scanner, thereby there is no need for a windowed slot in the back. As for the camera, the cover's 0.45 mm thinness also makes it an almost invisible cover and may not hinder the camera functions when a user takes an image or a video.
