Aside from the Mi Note 2, another flagship that fans expect from Xiaomi is a new Mi iteration. Speculations suggest that fans of the lineup will not have that long to wait as supposed specs of the Mi 5s leak online.

Reports of out China said that, based on supposed leaks, the new Xiaomi Mi 5s will offer next-gen specs. Some of the purported details for the new flagship iteration include a step-up Snapdragon 821 processor, as well as 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. In addition, the Mi 5s is expected to be a top-tier edition for the Mi 5 lineup, given that the upcoming iteration will offer up to 256 GB of onboard storage.

The new Mi 5s will also offer step-up specs than the Mi 5 base model. Although it will have a similar 5.15-inch screen, it is said that the new display will have 3D Touch-like features. There are also rumors that the new Mi 5s screen will have curved edges.

The rest of the specs are what to be expected of a flagship device. Additional features for the Xiaomi Mi 5 s include nano sim slots (hinting a dual-SIM feature), USB Type-C connectivity, and the Quick Charge 3.0 option for the 3,490 mAh battery. The new device is also expected to come out with an upgraded 16-MP main camera with OIS, capable of capturing 4K videos.

Apart from the Mi 5s, there is another offering in the Mi 5 lineup that's speculated to come out, an Extreme version. According to GSM Arena, the Mi 5 Extreme is rumored to be a modified version of the base model. Although this new Mi 5 Extreme variant uses the Snapdragon 820 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 530 GPU, it has been overclocked. The CPU speed is now up to 2.15 GHz, from 1.8 GHz, while the RAM now runs at an OC speed at 1866 MHz, a massive improvement from 1333 MHz.
