With Xiaomi's recent influx of upcoming smartphones, it's no longer surprising if people in the United States start importing one of them even though the Chinese-built devices still do not have LTE support in this country. Now the latest to be added to the highly anticipated list of upcoming devices is the Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano.

The Chinese brand made a crucial decision to develop a smaller sibling to that of the Xiaomi Mi MIX and Xiaomi may have come up with the right one. According to GSM Arena, while the original Mi MIX still awes consumers and critics alike primarily due to the almost zero bezel design, it'll remain as a bulky device that not everyone would welcome using for daily tasks of calling and messaging. The reason is because its 6.4-inch screen is just way too big for a lot of people.

The alleged follow-up to the Mi MIX is reportedly being developed and will be called the Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano. As the name suggests, it'll be parading a smaller 5.5-inch screen instead of the original version's 6.4 inches. A recent photo leak emerged, showcasing the phone as very similar to its sibling, and yes, it too has minimal bezels. Accordingly, it will be released sometime next month.

Per Phone Arena, the Mi MIX Nano is to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, combined with 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and at least 64 GB of internal storage; although one is to expect it to have an expandable memory option.

If this rumored device is made official, perhaps the most intriguing aspect of it is the prospect of a bezel-less design while having a size that's more typical of a smartphone these days. While this distinctive design was first introduced in the Mi MIX, the fact that it has an outrageously large size makes it more like a tablet than a phone. So in the end, the smaller Mi MIX Nano could turn out to be the more saleable of the two.
