The next pre-order date for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is on April 28.Xiaomi

One of the most popular devices in India is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, which sells very fast once it is posted for sale. The next pre-order for the device is coming this week, but fans also need to be wary, as there are scammers who are taking advantage of this.

Users in India who are looking forward to getting their hands on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will have the chance to do so, as the next pre-order for the handset is coming on Friday, April 28, in the country.

The device is a budget-friendly option with a price starting at 9,999 Rs (or about $156) for the base model. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 costs 10,999 Rs (or approximately $172) and 12,999 Rs (or roughly $203) for the midtier and top variants, respectively.

However, fans need to be careful as there are reports that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is being sold online on a website called mi.offers.com for just 499 Rs or about $8. At first glance, the post looks legit as it also resembles the look of Amazon India website. Nonetheless, the offer is a sham and intends to phish for information, such as name and credit card information, from the users, or spread virus.

India Today tried to click "Buy Now" to find out more about the scam. They found out that the site asks the buyer to send the link and share the offer to 10 more other people before one can proceed with the purchase. After which, it redirects to two other different links, which may most likely contain virus as well.

Meanwhile, for the specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the device comes with a 5.5-inch screen high-definition (HD) display with a 2.5D curved finish. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, along with the Adreno 506 for its graphics processing unit (GPU).

Fans have the options among 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal memory, and 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of built-in storage. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with 13-megapixel main snapper and 5-megapixel secondary shooter. It comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

The device was released in August 2016.
