Xiaomi has just added a new iteration to its Redmi lineup with the release of the new Redmi Pro.

Becoming official with a price of under $300, the new Redmi Pro is a higher version of Xiaomi's lineup and was previously thought of to be the rumored Redmi Note 4 iteration. The new release is a full lineup, coming out in two iterations. The base model for the Redmi Pro carries a Helio X20 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, while the top-tier, premium version has the step-up Helio X25 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. There is also a number of onboard storage options for both RAM configurations, as users can select from 32GB, 64GB and 128GB onboard storage versions.

One of the most noted features is that Xiaomi employed a dual-cam setup for the new Redmi Pro, which makes it a mix of both above-average and top-tier specs for the iteration. Topping the dual-cam assembly is a Sony IMX258 sensor for its 13MP snapper, partnered with a 5MP Samsung sensor at the bottom. Xiaomi claims that the new dual-cam setup for the Redmi Pro will allow the device to capture DSLR-like images.

Meanwhile, another milestone for the new iteration is that the Redmi Pro is Xiaomi's first lineup to use an OLED display, and its 5.5-inch screen runs the whole 100 percent NTSC color gamut. In addition, flagship features are also present in the new iteration such as USB Type-C ports, 2.5D curved glass housing, fingerprint sensor and a brushed aluminum body.

Xiaomi is known to come out with top-tier lineups with minimal price tags, and the new Redmi Pro is no exception. Despite its flagship features and specs, the estimated prices are well under $300. The base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage has a $224 price tag, while the premium variant with 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM only costs $299.
